Abstract: Press statements, seminar outline, correspondence, photographs, clippings, flyers, legal documents, notes and other material documenting the activities of the Committee for Homosexual Freedom CHF in San Francisco,which protested employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

The collection includes photographs of demonstrations in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Laurence and Gayle Whittington. Both were fired by their employers respectively, Committee of homosexual freedom radio station and a Committee of homosexual freedom company, State Steamship Line after a photo of them embracing was published by the countercultural newspaper the Berkeley Barb.

The Committee of homosexual freedom organized public protests in San Francisco against State Steamship Line, then went on to introduce Committee of homosexual freedom "declaration of policy concerning sexual freedom and homosexual employment rights" as a San Francisco municipal ballot measure that, if passed, would have banned discrimination in employment on the basis of sexual orientation. Processing this collection has been funded by a generous grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

In order to provide access to this collection, minimal processing on this collection was expedited in Date spans were given wherever possible, but do not reflect the most accurate inclusive dates. Newsletters from the Committee for Homosexual Freedom have been separated from the collection and entered into ONE Hungarian teen nudists girls periodicals collection.

Press statements, seminar outline, correspondence, photographs, clippings, flyers, notes and other material documenting activities of the Committee for Homosexual Freedom CHFa radical gay rights group founded in San Francisco, CHF began by staging public demonstrations protesting employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, then went on to place on the San Francisco municipal ballot a "declaration of policy concerning sexual freedom and homosexual employment rights" which, if passed, would have banned discrimination in employment on the basis of sexual orientation.
